WHAT IS ACCREDITATION?

​Accreditation is the method by which educational institutions of higher learning are evaluated, assessed & endorsed. To accomplish this process, various external organisations are utilised:

  • A Peer Review Board
  • Accrediting Bodies
  • Government Departments of Higher Education

These various organisations set the standards, with which every Education Institution must comply with to attain accreditation.

Various criteria are used within the set standards:

  • The vision & mission of the educational institute
  • The objectives of the educational institute
  • Welfare of the students
  • Marketing
  • Quality Assurance
  • Curriculum content
  • Qualifications
  • Quality of lecturers/faculty
  • Benefits for students
  • Health & Safety within the facility

WHY ACCREDITATION?

It has been said that education is only as good as the educator.

Bearing this in mind, if an educational institution is recognised as producing excellent, well-rounded students, then the value of the qualification is significantly increased. Future employers will recognise the intrinsic value of the employee based on the source of the qualification.

In addition, educational institutions enable students to transfer credits between institutions.
